Let's do this 💪🏽

Apples, apples and more apples, oh my!
Ms. Watlington's class used their taste buds to collect data on which type of apple were their favorites. The class used their answers to make a chart of just how many students preferred each apple.

Ms. Mattox's class has been full of literacy skills and collaboration lately!
1. Students read "My Father's Dragon" in their book club. These students are growing a love for reading and look forward to sitting on their desks and taking turns reading aloud to the class.
2. Students took turns reading to each other in their groups, followed by a scavenger hunt looking for Phonetic Skill 5 words in the text.

Third graders at Marion Math, Science & Technology Magnet took a bite out of science on Thursday as they participated in an exciting hands-on learning project -- dissecting dogfish sharks. Assisted by students from Marion High School and parent volunteers, the younger students explored shark anatomy up close, applying scientific principles they’ve been learning throughout the year.
As they examined the internal organs of the sharks, students made real-world connections to their lessons on marine biology. The dissection allowed them to better understand how sharks function as predators in the ocean ecosystem.
