Attention MSD Parents: The following is the newest change to the mask policy. This amended policy was approved by the board last Thursday night and is in line with the current mask directive by the ADH. "Masks with valves are not allowed. Bandanas and single-layer neck gaiters (a form of mask made 2 out of stretchy, moisture-wicking fabric that is worn around the neck and pulled up over the nose and mouth) may not provide sufficient protection and are strongly discouraged. Bandanas and gaiters may be doubled to provide two layers of protection." As always, thank you for your continued support of the Marion School District.

These were our super sellers from our fundraiser last spring. Each one of them sold more than 25 items! The prizes finally arrived and each took home a kindle fire for their hard work. Some of our super sellers included virtual students who are not pictured and a few who were absent today. To all of our super sellers, WAY TO GO!

Dear MST Parent of K-2 Virtual Student: Arkansas requires each student in grades K-2 to be assessed several times a year. The window for fall testing is currently open. Your student is required to take Renaissance Star and Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS). The Renaissance Star assessment can be administered at home, but the DIBELS needs to be face to face with a certified teacher if possible. Please fill out the attached form to let Marion School District know if you will be administering the Renaissance Star assessment at home to your student or if you would like to bring your child to campus after hours for a Marion School District employee to administer both the Renaissance Star and DIBELS assessments. If you choose to administer the Renaissance Star at home, we ask that you read the administration requirements set by the Arkansas Department of Education and stop by the MSD central office at 200 Manor Street to sign the parent security agreement form. This form needs to be submitted no later than Monday, September 21st at noon. Arrangements will then need to be made for DIBELS testing if you choose to administer the Renaissance Star at home. A Marion School District employee will contact you to make arrangements for DIBELS testing. If you have any questions email Jonnett Gammill at jgammill@msd3.org. Lauren Kennedy‘s 5th grade class at MST read a book about features and what makes people unique. The book was used to help inspire their writing - what makes the students unique and special. Students then wrote about their selected features.

Hello Patriots! To clarify any potential misunderstandings regarding MSD device distributions, devices were given to MSD students whose original survey data indicated the need for a school-issued device to support virtual learning. Unfortunately, with our last round of distribution we have exhausted our supply of devices available for student use. Marion School District, like thousands of school districts across the country, are awaiting the arrival of more than $600,000 worth of new devices. Upon arrival of the additional devices, parents of students who remain on the waiting list will be notified for pick-up. Please note that in the interim a cell phone can be used to access both Seesaw and Google Classroom learning platforms. If you have not yet registered and would like to be added to the device waiting list- please click here --> https://forms.gle/j9tgFcb8VDFDELfh7 Thank you for your continued support. GO PATRIOTS!
