Important update from the Marion School District:
There have been significant changes in guidance to schools today regarding
COVID-19. As of now, schools in 4 central Arkansas counties have been
directed to close due to new presumptive positive cases and direct contact
by others with those who have tested positive. The decision to close was
made out of an abundance of caution.
School closure decisions will be made in consultation with the Arkansas
Department of Health (ADH) and Arkansas Department of Education (ADE). The
two agencies will work jointly to provide guidance to districts based on
developments in local communities. The ADH and ADE have established a
dedicated hotline for districts to call to discuss whether preemptive
closures are advised.
We will continue to update you as new information is available.

Last day to order a VPA yearbook is Friday, March 13th!

MARY POPPINS, JR
Our first major production was a huge success! The show featured the talents of over 90 VPA students. From acting to singing and set changes to lighting, VPA students were at the center of every aspect. Coached by Drama Director, Whitney Hall, Magnet Director, Brandy Allison, and Choir Director, Barry Bates, work began in October with auditions. Since that time students have had daily practices and rehearsals to perfect the show - and they did an outstanding job!
We are so thankful for the support of our community, and while our drama and music departments are already looking forward to the next big show, we will spent the next few weeks reflecting on and celebrating this milestone at VPA!

READ ACROSS AMERICA
VPA students celebrated Read Across America Week with a week full of reading fun! Students participated in dress up days and activities to celebrate some of our favorite books and favorite authors. We also had guest readers visit from throughout the community. It was an amazing week of fun!

In celebration of Dr. Seuss week, these students were assigned a challenge inspired by "Ten Apples Up on Top." Students built the tallest towers they could with materials provided. The towers had to hold their apples on top without the students touching them.
