The Marion Patriot Pride Marching Band earned a trip to the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Orchestra Association State Marching Contest on Wednesday, Nov. 5, by earning straight first division ratings from all adjudicators at the Region IV Marching Assessment held Tuesday in Cabot.

This marks the sixth year in a row for the band to qualify for the State Band Contest which is another school record. Marion finished the season in 2024 with the highest finish to date in class 6A with the bronze medal and a third place finish.

This weekend (Oct. 25), the band will make a return trip to the Eastern Shore Classic in Daphne, Ala., where Marion will take on 25 bands from five different states.

Fans can also catch the band at the Patriots next home football game on Friday, Oct. 31, at the Southern Bancorp Stadium in Marion. The game will also be senior night.
