MARION ALUMNI

Marion's mascot changed from the Spartans to the Patriots in 1971.

The earliest Marion School required tuition payments by the students' families. In 1869, School District No. One was established. In 1953, No. 1 became School District No. 3 due to a legislative act.

The Military Road campus, which now houses Marion Elementary School, has been part of the school district since 1912 when it was constructed.

The first school lunches cost 13 cents.

The school colors changed from Red and White (Spartans) to the Patriot Blue, Red and White.

Phelix School merged with the Marion School District in 1971.

Crawfordsville Schools consolidated with Marion in 2004, with Turrell joining us in 2010.

We are in the process of digitizing class composite photos and posting them here for all to enjoy.

This is a work in progress!

If you have a composite not included in our archives, please share it with us. We will have a professional photographer make an electronic copy for us, and we will return your original.
